REVIEW

This is the kind of game more people should play, especially fans of platformers in general. To me, it’s the kind of game that needs a famous YouTuber, speedrunner, or someone similar to bring it the audience it deserves.
Great movement, with graphics that resemble a GBC game, but without the limitations of that era.
The level design encourages you to make use of the character’s moveset, especially when trying to complete a level as quickly as possible to earn the time medal. There’s even an option to reset the level upon death, which also resets the timer.
There are several secrets in every level, including some hidden outside the boundaries of the screen. The game also has an in-game feature, unlocked in the town, that lets you see which secrets you’re still missing from each level, with the exception of some more obscure things that were added later.
Interesting characters that got a laugh out of me every now and then.
If I had to give one criticism, I think the relic system should be a menu where you can choose which relic you want to use before entering a level, or even switch them from the pause menu, instead of having a dedicated area on the world map that you have to keep returning to. Some of the secrets can also be quite difficult to find.
Other than that, great game.
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on Colorgrave’s upcoming games.
