This isn't just a game to me; it's an absolute obsession. I walked in thinking it was just a cute platformer with bugs, but I stayed because it’s a brutal masterpiece. The world of Hallownest just sucks you in completely. You get lost, you panic, you die (a lot), but every single death teaches you something. It doesn't hold your hand, and honestly, that’s why it feels so rewarding when you finally figure out where to go. The combat is where this game goes from "great" to "legendary." It’s so snappy and precise. The boss fights aren't just enemies; they feel like learning a violent dance. Squaring off against Grimm is all about rhythm—once you click with his moves, it’s pure magic. And the duel with the Pure Vessel? That is straight-up adrenaline. Beating them didn't feel like luck; it felt like I actually "got gud" after hours of trying. Honestly, this is the gold standard for Metroidvanias. It’s punishing, beautiful, and deeply emotional in ways I didn't expect. I’ve played hundreds of games, but nothing hits quite like this one. If you have the patience to learn its patterns and endure the pain, it’s easily a 10/10 experience that you’ll never forget. Just play it.
